Band Update 2008

Come join us for a great season!

Although it doesn't look like we'll be able to organize a full marching band at Crown Athletics this year, we're still making good progress! Our Color Guard had a fantastic camp experience and the team has been practicing weekly. You'll really see the development of this program once the girls hit the field this fall - we can't wait! Now the Knights Band is ready to gear up, and we'd love for you to join us.

Atlanta Quest Indoor Drumline has loaned Crown Athletics some beautiful, top quality equipment for our use. We have snare, tenor & bass drums, cymbals, marimbas and vibraphones and more - everything's in place for a great band experience!

We'd love for you to join us and there's still time to get on board. There will be Band Camp this coming week at The King's Academy, 471 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188. Camp will be held Monday & Tuesday, July 14-15 and Thursday-Friday, July 17-18 from 9am until noon each day. We're looking for homeschool students age 12-18, grades 7th-12th to join us! Drummers should be able to read music and need to provide their own practice pad and drumsticks. Marimba/vibraphone enthusiasts need ability to read music and previous piano experience is a plus! Cymbal players can come as you are - no experience necessary - we'll teach you all you need to know!

If you're not able to make Band Camp, but still have interest, please give Kim a call. She'll provide further information regarding band fees, schedule, etc. It's going to be a fantastic season - SO MANY fun things are planned, and we want you to be part of the team!

We also need interested Christian adults to help our Band program. If you have experience playing or teaching any of the instruments mentioned (especially marimba/vibraphone), we'd love for you to get involved. Also, we are looking for ladies with previous Color Guard experience including flags/rifles/sabers. This is just one more great way to get involved and use your talents to honor the Lord and bless the homeschool community.
