Dear Crown Families,

The Board of Crown Athletics would like to appeal to you on behalf of a special event we have planned for many of our student/athletes on Friday, December 19. A couple of months back, we were approached by the Atlanta Hawks about arranging an event where our basketball teams, cheerleaders, drum corps, flag corps, and JROTC color guard would be able to perform on the court at Philips Arena before an Atlanta Hawks game. It was a huge undertaking which involved our commitment to purchase/sell at least 500 tickets to the Hawks game at a significantly discounted rate. The Board felt like this was a tremendous opportunity for our athletes that could provide some great lifelong memories. How many athletes get to perform on the court of an NBA team?

We have done our best to get the word out about the Knights Court of Dreams, but so far the response has been poor; so much so that we may have to consider canceling this special event. The Crown Board met last Saturday morning and decided to lower the ticket price and make one final appeal to encourage families to join with us in this endeavor.

We are pleased to announce that $30 tickets are now available for only $15. (Note: for those who have already purchased tickets at the $20 rate, you will receive a refund to reflect the new price.) This ticket will get you into the 3 Crown basketball games as well as the Hawks game. This is a great deal! Ticket holders are allowed to come and go throughout the day, and during the 2 hour break between the Crown games and the Hawks game, you will find plenty to do in the area around Philips Arena. Historic Underground Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coke, Centennial Olympic Park’s annual Holiday in Lights Display, outdoor Ice Skating, and the CNN Center Food Court are all attractions within easy walking distance. Why not make it a fun-filled day for the whole family? We are also hoping to secure a notable Hawks player or coach to address our group immediately following the Knights games that afternoon. It truly will be a day to remember.

Would you please consider joining us for this special time? Attached is a form that you can use to sign up, or you can simply drop by The King’s Academy next week to get your tickets. The new deadline to buy Knights Court of Dreams tickets is Friday, December 5. Tickets will also be sold that evening at the Knights home games at TKA. Based on tickets sales through that date, the Board will make a decision regarding how to move forward. Should we need to cancel (and we certainly hope we do not!), we will refund any monies that have been paid.

Here's what the overall schedule for the Knights Court of Dreams looks like:

  • 1:00 - 5:00pm Crown Knights Vs. NCC Crusaders Basketball Games - JV Boys, Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys
  • Crown Cheerleaders, Drum Corps and Flag Corps will have opportunity to perform during these games
  • 7:30pm Atlanta Hawks Vs. Golden State Warriors - JROTC presents the colors for the National Anthem

*Note: If enough tickets sell, some of our student/athletes will get to be captains for the game, form the tunnel that the Hawks run through onto the court, and stand along the baseline during warm-ups!

Please let us hear from you as soon as possible and NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 5 so that we may continue with plans for this fun and memorable holiday event for our Crown Knights, families and friends.

We appreciate your support!
